Greetings from beautiful Shangri-La Resort!

   This page is simply to introduce you to the owners of Shangri-La (that's us!)  We are the Hilmer's...Ryan and Lori, Andrew(17), Josh(15), Collin(12), Keegan(9), and Kyra(6). We are super excited and are looking forward to making your next vacation the very finest.   

      Prior to moving to Cass Lake, we operated a successful childcare business and lived in northwestern Wisconsin.  Ryan loves the outdoors and has wanted to own a resort since kindergarten.  One of his greatest  joys is watching people smile and have fun.  Lori grew up on a dairy farm and is truly delightful. She is a wonderful encourager and really knows how to  make people feel welcome.  The kids laugh and pout like most kids.  They love to play and will take all opportunities to play with other kids rather than finish a chore.  We all smile a lot and love being together.  As a family we work hard, play often, and make the most of life.

    On August 17, 1998, we concluded a 5+year search for a resort that offered the best of scenic beauty, a sandy swimming beach, and great fishing.   Of the hundreds of resorts we've researched over the years, Shangri-La definitely stands above the norm.  The clincher for us was you, the vacationing guests.  The families that frequent Shangri-La are the type of people that we want our kids to be around.  Thank you!  Shangri-La means "Hidden Paradise" and we want our paradise to be yours too.   We truly are a great vacation destination.  For cabin availability and reservations call us at 1-800-635-8858.
